About
Kat Dimitruk is an image maker whose most recent work is Extended Bodies, which is a by product of the question- how would we move through the world if we considered the earth to be an extension of ourselves? The work was a part of the East Bay Photo Collective’s 2023 Membership Exhibition.
Kat’s thesis at Hampshire College culminated in a year long project that focused on family dynamics regarding the experiences of loss, caretaking, and grief. The work combines images from fifteen-year-old 35mm film Kat had found undeveloped in their mom’s fridge, months after their dad had passed away, alongside projected digitized mini DV tape footage from their childhood, and their own photographic work.
Katharine received a BA in Photography and Video Production from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, and is currently based in the Bay Area, CA
